the concept of ‘good labour’ is an old eastern truism.  the Buddha exhorted all to hold good jobs.  We spend a third of our lives doing our jobs.  If the purpose of these jobs are against the grain of good spirituality, we can hardly expect to gain good understanding and insight into the mysteries.
