the story of Jacob’s struggle with God in which he was wounded in the hip is here explained in the mystical sense as a victory for Jacob Gen 27:41-45; 28:5-6.  the pious struggle, not of boxing but of wrestling, will always render us painfully aware of our inabilities and weaknesses but the close association with the Divine always invigorates and uplifts, nurtures and heal us spiritually, and like Jacob, perhaps we too will become mystically aware and see the kingdom of God and the mysteries.
