the author attributes to Wisdom the selection of Moses as prophet, his training in mysticism through the Midianite priest and his eventual graduation during the burning bush meditation when he could experience God. the author also attributes to Wisdom the voice in the cloud which led the chosen people out of oppression. This voice in the cloud is known by all mystics to be their closest companion and dearest friend. Many works have been written on this aspect of our travels on the Way.
In verse 20 the author starts addressing God and from now on it is not Wisdom that is explained and eulogized it is to Gods saving actions which the author speaks as he addresses the Spirit Father God. the author continuos to show that earthly power and glory is temporal and not comparable to the power and glory which the Godloving share. He makes use of the well documented legend of the Exodus Event to illustrate how it is that the oppressors and wealthy tend to be self-centred but the oppressed and poor tend to be the ones, like Joseph in the pit, to desire God and call on Gods intervention and assistance with a passion which focuses and disciplines them. Henceforth in this part of the book the author contrasts the mind-set of the Egyptians, who personify the earthly powerful, the wealthy and idolaters, with the desperate oppressed and poor people moved by their passion to be freed from slavery. This is a lesson for anyone trapped in vice, or in their own earthly temporal power or self-indulgent mind-sets.
